HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEDIATRIC SMILES OF OREM!

We recently celebrated our office's third birthday. We have been in business for three full years! How crazy is that? Time flies by so quickly, and our patients are growing right before our eyes. It is crazy to see how tall and old our patients have gotten. It is also crazy to think that three years ago we were struggling to fill our schedule and did all we could to get our name out there. We are of course still working our hardest to let everyone around know about our amazing dental practice, but scheduling patients has gotten a little easier and our days are full with all of your smiling faces. We hope to continue to grow and serve more of those in our surrounding area.

We are a very close knit team here at the office and we all like food, and a good party. So we dedcided for our third Birthday that we would throw ourselves a celebratory party for our dental practice. This office would not have worked if it wasn't for our amazing dentist Dr. Shepherd and his hard working team. Some of the members includingDr. Shepherd even turned three with the office. Katie one of our Office managers, and Lily one of our dental assistants turned three with the practice in April, And I turn three in August (Gemma). Combined with a lot of blood sweat and tears it has been an amazing adventure taking this practice from nothing to what it has become today. 

We appreciate all of our patients, parents, and friends who have helped us grow and we hope you continue to grow with us.

Come check us out at the Women's Expo this weekend, Friday at Saturday from 11 AM to 8PM at the UCCU center in Orem . There will be give aways, a prize drawing and a carnival wheel to spin and win. There will also be a lot of other  booths and fun things to check out there. The Women's Expo is always a fun thing to attend. If you need a ticket stop by our office and we will be more than willing to give you one. Look out for our next blog post to see all the fun we had there.

Lagoon Day

 We have had a busy summer here at Pediatric Smiles of Orem. While all the kids were out of school they came to see us at the Dentists office. This week we were able to do some fun things. On Tuesday we were able to go to Dr. Graf's Dr. Appreciation lunch where there was yummy food, a photo booth, and a prize drawing. Katie and I were lucky enough to see one of our friends who used to work next to us, now she is an awesome assistant for Dr. Graf.

 A few weeks ago Dr. Shepherd decided that the office needed a day of to go and have fun, celebrate our one year anniversary, and spend time together as office friends. So yesterday (Wednesday August 21st) We all got to spend the Day at Lagoon we had so much fun and made many good memories together as an office.  Here are some of the pictures we took of the staff at our exhausting fun filled day. New day, New Employee

This week was exciting we got a new employee to help out at our ever growing practice. You may have seen this face around our office in the past as Jake has been shadowing Dr. Shepherd and learning all he can before he heads off to dental school in a few years. We would like to give a big welcome to Jake our NEWEST employee.

Jake Has been helping out at Pediatric Smiles of Orem for the past year. He has been shadowing Dr. Shepherd and learning from the best. Jake is currently attending he Uof U and is majoring in pre-dentistry (biology), with a minor in chemistry. Jake's wife just recently had a little baby boy (who is extremely cute) and this baby is keeping Jake on his toes. We are excited to have Jake as our newest addition. He is hard working, dedicated, positive and motivated. We look forward to having Jake on our team for the foreseeable future.


This week Dr. Shepherd received an awesome piece of art work from one his patients, we all love getting drawings and pictures from our patients. Feel free to bring in a picture and we will display it in our waiting room area. Look our for our upcoming blog post. until next week my friends.

CPR

We all had a great time renewing our CPR certificates this week, We had a fire fighter Jason come in and spend an afternoon with us refreshing our memories on how to preform CPR in the correct way. It recently got changed to CAB ( Compression/Airway/Breathing). We went over what we had to do in different situations and for different age patients.

We also went over how to block an airway on a chocking victim. Got to practice our chest thrust as you never know when you will need to use them. I am glad to tell you that we all passed the test and are up to date on our certification.
